The Cobleskill Nursery Management Program is an all encompassing program that provides students opportunities to learn and experience the activities involved in operating a production nursery, garden center, and landscape enterprise.  Students experience many phases of care and maintenance of plants and the environment that they are utilized in.  Many students with interest in public gardening at locations such as arboreta enjoy the horticultural challenge they find in this program.

The campus has a 2 acre production nursery that is operated and managed by the students.  The nursery is comprised of a container production facility, seedling growing areas, over-wintering facilities, shrub and shade tree field production, Christmas tree planting, and greenhouses for propagation.  A 15 house greenhouse range provides many opportunities for students who will be involved with facility management and crop production.

In addition to the nursery facility the College campus is maintained by students.  Irrigation, athletic fields, trees and shrubs  and flower beds are cared for by students, faculty and staff.  There is also a 10 acre arboretum as a part of the campus.  The arboretum has unique  specimens, conifers, rhododendrons, and a wildflower area.  Found at the arboretum are a gazebo, cabin, and stone walls which are all products of student projects and activities.

Many students interested in estate management or careers in arboreta find the Nursery management /Ornamental Horticulture degree program a good fit for their intended careers.
